Scholarship Schemes

The Government of Maharashtra implements several student welfare, scholarship, fee- reimbursement, hostel and maintenance schemes to promote access to higher education and reduce financial barriers for students. A large number of these schemes are administered through the Maha DBT (Maharashtra Direct Benefit Transfer) portal.

Major Student Scholarship Schemes

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulk Shishyavrutti Financially weaker students pursuing eligible higher/professional education; family income generally up to ₹8 lakh under the DHE scheme.
Government of India Post-Matric Scholarship SC and Neo-Buddhist students pursuing post-matric education, subject to eligibility conditions.
Post-Matric Tuition Fee & Examination Fee Freeship Reimbursement of compulsory tuition, examination and other eligible fees for eligible SC students.
Post-Matric Scholarship for ST Students Financial assistance to students belonging to Scheduled Tribes.
Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC/VJNT/SBC Students Scholarship and educational fee support for eligible students belonging to these categories.
Minority Student Scholarships Financial assistance for eligible students from minority communities pursuing higher and professional education.
Scholarship for Students with Disabilities Tuition/examination fee support and maintenance allowance for eligible students with disabilities.
Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna Hostel/subsistence assistance for eligible students, particularly under higher and technical education schemes.
Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship Merit-based financial assistance for eligible students.
Eklavya Scholarship Scholarship support for eligible meritorious students pursuing higher education.
State Government Open Merit Scholarship Merit-based assistance for eligible students.
Government Research Adhichatra Financial support for eligible research scholars.
Education Concession for Children of Ex-Servicemen Educational assistance for eligible children of ex-servicemen.
Education Concession for Children of Freedom Fighters Educational assistance for eligible children of freedom fighters.

The official MahaDBT portal currently lists schemes administered by the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, Tribal Development Department, Directorate of Higher Education, Directorate of Technical Education, OBC/VJNT/SBC Welfare Department, Minority Development Department, Medical Education and Research Department and other departments.
