Department of Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at Lok Mahavidyalaya, Wardha was established in 2022, offering Undergraduate (UG) education through the B.Sc. Chemistry programme. The department is committed to providing quality education and promoting the holistic development of students. It aims to develop students’ understanding of Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry.

The Department undertakes various academic, co-curricular and practical learning activities to enhance students’ knowledge and skills. These include laboratory practicals, assignments, seminars, PowerPoint presentations, unit tests, project work and practical examinations. The Department also organizes industrial visits, workshops, guest lectures, awareness programmes and special lectures to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications of Chemistry.

The Department promotes a student-centered learning environment where students are encouraged to develop curiosity, problem-solving abilities and a scientific attitude. Emphasis is given to connecting classroom concepts with laboratory experiments and real-life applications.

The Department also encourages students to participate in academic activities, science exhibitions, seminars and project-based learning. These activities help students improve their communication skills, teamwork, laboratory competence and confidence.

Special emphasis is placed on laboratory safety, responsible handling of chemicals, proper maintenance of practical records and effective use of modern laboratory techniques. Students are encouraged to pursue higher education, competitive examinations, research and career opportunities in the field of Chemistry.
