Department of Zoology

The Department of Zoology at Lok Mahavidyalaya Wardha has been functioning since 2022, offering Undergraduate (UG) education through the B.Sc Zoology programme. The Department of Zoology is committed to providing quality education and developing a strong foundation in the biological sciences. The department offers students a comprehensive understanding of animal diversity, structure and function, physiology, genetics, evolution, ecology, biodiversity, and conservation.

With a balanced emphasis on theoretical learning, practical laboratory training, and field-based studies, the department encourages students to develop scientific thinking, analytical abilities, research aptitude, and professional skills. Academic activities such as practical sessions, field visits, seminars, workshops, projects, and student-centred learning provide opportunities for students to connect classroom knowledge with real-world applications.

The department also promotes awareness of biodiversity conservation, wildlife protection, environmental sustainability, and ecological balance. Through its academic and co-curricular initiatives, the department strives to nurture responsible, knowledgeable, and scientifically oriented graduates who are prepared for higher education, research, teaching, and diverse career opportunities in the life sciences.

The Department is guided by the valuable leadership and guidance of the Principal, Dr. Mahendra Sahare is supported by the Head of the Science Department and faculty members in achieving its academic and developmental objectives.
