Department of Forensic Science

The Department of Forensic Science at Lok Mahavidyalaya, Wardha, was established in 2022 with the aim of providing students with quality education and practical exposure in the field of forensic science. The department focuses on developing a strong foundation in the scientific examination of evidence and its application in criminal investigation and the justice system.

The department aims to enhance students’ understanding of various areas of forensic science, including crime scene investigation, fingerprint examination, questioned documents, forensic chemistry, toxicology, forensic biology, digital forensics, and other emerging branches of the discipline. Emphasis is placed on connecting theoretical concepts with practical and investigative applications. A range of academic and skill-based activities are conducted to strengthen students’ knowledge and professional abilities. Students are encouraged to develop observation, analytical reasoning, evidence-handling, documentation, and scientific interpretation skills.

Through these initiatives, the Department of Forensic Science strives to nurture scientific thinking, investigative aptitude, research interest, professional competence, and career readiness among students. The department also encourages students to understand the importance of forensic science in supporting fair investigation and the administration of justice.
